A free and feature-rich weather app

The Weather Channel app is a free weather app for Android users. Designed by IBM, the app gives users access to hourly, daily, and weekly weather forecasts, along with other weather-related information. It also comes with three widget options, as well as a radar function that predicts and shows various weather conditions on a scrollable map. Moreover, The Weather Channel app isn’t limited to Android. It is also available for download on iOS phones.

What’s new in The Weather Channel App?

If you’ve ever watched the Weather Channel live on television or opened weather.com to get a weekly weather forecast, you’ll like this application. Brought to you by IBM, the free app delivers hourly, daily, and weekly weather updates, along with a reliable ‘feels like’ function that helps you aptly prepare for the conditions outside your home.

The latest version of The Weather Channel app shows COVID-19 confirmed cases, local trend graphs, and an AI-powered incident tracker. It also lets users keep track of the ongoing flu, seasonal allergies, pollen count, air pollution index, and more. You can even set up real-time weather alerts to swiftly escape the snow, storm, or rain!

Does the app have a user-friendly interface?

When you download The Weather Channel app on your Android device, you’ll come across a lovely blue screen. It is the app’s primary page and shows users the weather conditions in their current location. Scrolling through this screen gives users access to various functions such as hourly and fortnightly forecasts, future radar, and detailed weather information, among other features.

The application’s clean and simple interface makes it easy for anyone to check the weather and get real-time weather alerts. Users can even keep track of the weather in cities around the world. All you need to do is click on the plus-icon available on the top-right corner of the display. You can also switch between added cities by swiping right of left.

What features does The Weather Channel app have?

With the help of The Weather Channel app download, you can get access to lots of information about the weather conditions in your selected location. It includes the actual and ‘feels like’ temperature, visibility data, average and current wind speed, humidity level, and monthly precipitation. As you scroll down the app, you’re able to check the hourly weather conditions or get a forecast of the next 10 days.

A new addition to this weather app is the Radar function, which gives users a 6-hour future forecast. It shows information such as UV index, relative temperature, rain, snow, storm, and cloud coverage, all laid out clearly on a map. You can even move this map around to check the weather conditions of other locations. Clicking on the ‘More’ icon gets you additional information, as well as videos showing news related to the weather.

Does the app offer weather-alert functionality?

Getting regular weather alerts via The Weather Channel app is quite possible. All you need to do is to switch on the alert button for extreme weather conditions for your added locations. Additionally, the app also lets users report the weather condition in their area. When uploading data in real-time, you have the option to add photos and send a weather update every 15 minutes.

Does The Weather Channel app have any widget options?

The latest version of The Weather Channel app gives three widget options to Android users. These widgets show information about the weather and can be added to your home screen. The first two options have different designs, but both show the current temperature and wind speed. The third option is a little different and displays the weather forecast for the next two days.
